Weekend incidents – 20/21/22 January

Friday 20 January

Firefighters from Parkway were called to Manor Park Centre, Sheffield, at 7.34pm. Upon arrival they found a motorcycle well alight in a field. This was dealt with by 8.04pm and is thought to have been started deliberately.

Saturday 21 January

Firefighters from Birley Moor were called to Nickerwood Drive, Aston, at 0.43am. Upon arrival they found a van well alight. This was dealt with by 3.13am and is thought to have started accidentally.

Firefighters from Central were called to Egerton Street, Sheffield at 2.34am. Upon arrival they found a conifer and fence well alight. This was dealt with by 2.47am and is thought to have been started deliberately.

Firefighters from Lowedges were called to Sharpe Avenue, Sheffield, at 11.15am. Upon arrival they found a fire in a shed, that had been converted into a workshop. This was dealt with by 12.26pm and is thought to have started accidentally.

Firefighters from Tankersley, Dearne and Cudworth were called to a property on Mayflower Way, Wombwell, at 11.55am. Upon arrival they found a small fire within a cooker hood. This was dealt with quickly using a fire extinguisher. Nobody was injured and crews left the scene at 12.28pm.

Firefighters from Rivelin, Elm Lane and Central were called to Deer Park Road, Sheffield, at 4.51pm. Upon arrival they found a smoke logged property due to a chip pan fire. This fire had been smothered by the occupier prior to the fire services arrival and therefore no firefighting was required. One woman received treatment for smoke inhalation and crews left the scene at  5.50pm.

Sunday 22 January

Firefighters from Dearne, Rotherham and Edlington were called to Park Road, Conisbrough, at 0.32am. Upon arrival they found a fire within the kitchen of a first floor flat. This was a well developed fire which was tackled by breathing apparatus wearers. The occupant of the property was given treatment for smoke inhalation and minor burns by paramedics, and crews left the scene at 3.01am.

Firefighters from Rivelin were called to Clay Wheels Lane, Sheffield, at 5.31pm. Upon arrival they found a car had been driven onto an astro turf pitch and set alight. This was dealt with by 6.12pm and is thought to have been started deliberately.
