Firefighters from Barnsley, Cudworth and Tankersley were called to a fire on Yews Lane, Kendray, at 12.20pm today (Wednesday 18 September).

Upon arrival they found a derelict house well alight – with the whole property involved in fire.

Main jets were used to tackle the blaze from outside and the fire was dealt with by 3.20pm. Nobody was injured in the incident and the cause is under investigation.
