A flat had to be evacuated after a moped was set alight and the fire spread to bags of clothes and guttering in Barnsley.

The blaze broke out at around 00.30am on Saturday on Friars Road, Lundwood.

Cudworth and Barnsley firefighters dealt with the blaze and evacuated the heavily smoke logged flat as a precaution.

It’s thought the fire was started deliberately.
