Firefighters say candles should never be left unattended, after a house fire in Barnsley.
Tankersley, Barnsley and Cudworth firefighters attended the incident on Highstone Road, Worsborough Common at around 9pm on Friday (17 November).
The fire had been caused by a candle left in a kitchen and a young woman escaped unharmed.
Candles cause dozens of fires in South Yorkshire each year, often when they have been left unattended or when they have been placed on top of flammable surfaces.
Firefighters left the scene at around 9.50pm.
