A discarded cigarette ignited bedding at a house on Skelton Lane, Woodhouse.

The fire started at around 9.30pm. A man was inside the property but was unharmed.

Mansfield Road, Darnall and Aston Park firefighters tackled the incident.

Cigarettes should be discarded carefully in an ashtray and residents are reminded to never smoke in bed.
