Cigarettes warning after Doncaster bathroom blaze

Firefighters are warning the public to put out cigarettes properly after a bathroom blaze in Doncaster.

The fire started at the flat on Third Avenue, Woodlands at around 11.30pm on Wednesday.

A woman had run a bath and put a cigarette into a bathroom bin which had then ignited.

She escaped unharmed and Doncaster and Adwick firefighters put out the fire using a hose reel.

Cigarettes should always be properly extinguished before disposal and matches and lighters should always be kept out of children’s reach.
