Firefighters attended a fire at flats on Callow Drive, Sheffield.
The blaze broke out at around 8.15pm on Thursday (2 November) and involved some clothing and rubbish on top of an unplugged fridge in the communal lobby area.
Crews from Central, Parkway and Birley fire stations attended the incident.
There was a small amount of smoke logging to the premises, which firefighters used specialist equipment to remove.
It is thought the fire was started deliberately.
A fire service spokesperson said: “This incident was dealt with quickly and professionally by our firefighters and there was no immediate danger to residents. But any deliberate fire is extremely reckless, as it can quickly spread and put lives in danger. Anyone with information about people starting fires deliberately should call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or police 101.”
