Firefighters from Parkway were called to a house on Ravenscroft Crescent, Sheffield, at 2.40pm yesterday (Sunday 3 March) to reports of a smoke alarm sounding.
Upon arrival they were met by the occupant of the property who had been cooking and accidentally left a frying pan in the oven – prompting a build up of smoke.
Removing the frying pan in time meant there was no fire however the crew stayed with the man to offer some advice around fire safety – particularly when it comes to the dangers of getting distracted when cooking – and to venitlate the kitchen.
