Crews rescue man from height in Sheffield

A man in his 50s was rescued by firefighters from scaffolding on Rockingham Street, Sheffield.

The man was suffering from neck and shoulder pain, after an object fell and struck him on the head.

Firefighters from Rivelin and Parkway stations attended the incident, plus one of the service’s turntable ladders, working alongside paramedics from Yorkshire Ambulance Service to bring the man to safety.

The man was taken to hospital by ambulance.

Station Manager Paul Heffernan, said: “Firefighters did a brilliant job working alongside their 999 partners to rescue the man, who needed bringing to safety in a careful and controlled way to ensure his safety.”
