Fire crews tackle two premise fires overnight

Firefighters in Sheffield have been busy overnight tackling two domestic property fires.

Fire crews from Birley Moor and Partway stations were called to a fire on Thornbridge Crescent, Sheffield just after 9pm on Tuesday.

The fire was in the bedroom area and is believed to have started due to smoking material.  One man was taken to hospital for a precautionary check up.

At 3:50am on Wednesday three fire crews from Central and Lowedges stations attended a premise fire on Whinacre Close, Sheffield.

Firefighters used hose reels to put the fire out and left the scene at 4:55am

A woman and child were check over by paramedics at the scene.

This fire is currently under investigation.
