Firefighters tackle blaze at the old ski village

Four fire engines from Central, Rivelin and Elm Lane were called to a fire at the old ski village on Vale Road, Sheffield at 5:49pm on Tuesday.

On arrival, they found a large fire involving ski slope matting on the hill. An outdoor wooden structure was also involved in the fire, making the situation complex.

Using one main jet they were able to successfully bring the flames under control and extinguish the fire.

There were no injuries and the cause is currently under investigation.
