Four fire engines were called to a barn fire on Little Wood Lane in Thorpe Salvin at 3:30am on Thursday morning.

When fire crews from Aston, Maltby, Birley Moor and Penistone stations arrived at the scene they found a large number of hay bales on fire.

Firefighters worked for several hours tackling the fire.

Two fire engines remain at the scene this morning.

An investigation into the cause of the fire will take place once it is completely out.
