Crews from Cudworth, Dearne and Barnsley were called to an incident on Michaels Estate, Grimesthorpe in Barnsley at 10:43pm on Tuesday.

On arrival, they found the kitchen of the property was well alight. Once the fire had been extinguished, the cause of the fire was clear – a chip pan had overheated.

There were no casualties.

We remind people not to use chip pans as they can be very dangerous. If you ever do use one – please don’t leave it unattended.
