Overnight incidents 10/11 August 2023

One crew from Rotherham attended a field fire, including two hay bales, near Henley Way, Masbrough, Rotherham after a call was received at 17.14pm. One hose reel, beaters and a pitch fork were used to extinguish the fire which spread across an area approximately 30m x 10m. The incident had been dealt with by 7pm.

Crews from Maltby and Aston Park attended a field fire near Blyth Road, Maltby, Rotherham after a call was received at 7.52pm. There were two separate seats of fire totaling approximately 200sqm of standing crop. The first area of burning was close to a path that runs the length of the field. Crews used extended hose reels and beaters to extinguish the fire which is believed to have been deliberately ignited. The incident had been dealt with by 20.27pm.

One crew from Cudworth attended a road traffic collision involving two cars which had collided on Pontefract Road, Cudworth, Barnsley after a call was received at 9.23pm. Crews worked with paramedics at the scene to extricate a 56-year-old man him from one of the vehicles onto a stretcher. Firefighters made sure both vehicles were made safe then left the scene at 9.52pm.
