Overnight incidents 11/12 January 2021

Firefighters from Edlington station attended an out of control garden fire at 9pm. on Oliver Road, Balby, Doncaster. This was an accidental fire. The crew left the scene at 9:15pm.

At 9:40pm Cudworth firefighters were called out to a deliberate rubbish fire on Pontefract Road, Lundwood, Barnsley. The crew came away at 10:05pm.

Two wheelie bins were deliberately set on fire at 12am on Richmond Park Rise, Sheffield. Firefighters from Parkway station attended the incident. They left the scene at 12:15am.

Rotherham firefighters attended a deliberate rubbish at 1:05am on Strafford Road, Kimberworth Park, Rotherham. They came away at 1:30am.

Four fire crews from Central, Rivelin and Parkway stations were called out to a premise fire at 2:55am on Sharrow Lane, Sheffield. The fire was in the attic area, four flats were evacuated. One elderly man was in his flat which was had smoke coming in, control room staff gave the man fire survival guidance over the phone until fire crews rescued him. He was taken by ambulance to hospital as a precaution. The fire is currently under investigation. The crews left the scene at 5:55am.
