Overnight incidents 13/14 May 2024

Two fire crews rescued two children from a car had left the road and ended up in a stream near The Common, Sheffield after a call was received at 5.06pm. The incident had been dealt with by 6pm. No one was injured.

Five fire engines attended a house fire on Kilvington Road, Sheffield after a call was received at 5.14pm. The fire had started at the rear of the property and then spread to the back of the house. No one was injured but the fire is believed to have been caused deliberately.  The incident had been dealt with by 6.30pm.

Three fire engines attended a house fire on Abbeydale Road, Sheffield after a call was received at 6.46pm. The fire, which was partially extinguished before crews arrived, was caused by a lithium ion battery pack which had been left to charge on the arm of a sofa and then ignited. Crews used one hose reel to damp down and and a ventilation fan to clear the smoke. The incident had been dealt with by 7.20pm.
