Overnight incidents 16/17 April

Firefighters from Rotherham were called to a fire on Great Eastern Way, Parkgate, at 8.39pm. Upon arrival they found a pile of loose rubbish and old furniture well alight. It is thought this incident was started deliberately and the crew left the scene at 9.01pm.

Firefighters from Tankersley were called to a chimney fire on Hesley Bar, Thorpe Hesley, at 8.39pm. Upon arrival they extinguished the fire through the grate. This incident was dealt with by 9.42pm.

Firefighters from Birley Moor were called to a rubbish fire on Doe Quarry Terrace, Dinnington, at 8.39pm. Upon arrival they found the rubbish was behind a house and had dealt with it by 9.28pm. It is thought this fire had been started deliberately.

Firefighters from Edlington and Doncaster were called to a skip fire on Warmsworth Road, Balby, at 8.53pm. Upon arrival they found a large industrial skip was well alight in the car park of an empty pub. It is thought this fire was started deliberately, and it was dealt with by 10.42pm.

Firefighters from Parkway were called to a rubbish fire on Cricket Inn Road, Sheffield, at 8.53pm. Upon arrival they found the rubbish was behind a property and had dealt with it by 9.19pm. It is thought this incident was started deliberately.

Firefighters from Cudworth were called to fire on Derwent Crescent, Athersley, at 11.29pm. Upon arrival they found a pile of rubbish well alight in someone’s front garden. The crew left the scene at 11.51pm and is is thought this incident was started deliberately.

Firefighters from Doncaster, Adwick and Edlington were called to a fire on Carr House Road, Hyde Park, Doncaster, at 0.31am. Upon arrival they found a car fully involved in fire. This was extinguished by 1.29am and is thought to have been started deliberately.

Firefighters from Cudworth were called to a fire on High Street, Grimethorpe, at 1.26am. Upon arrival they found a load of household waste in a skip had been set alight. This was dealt with by 2.01am and it is thought to have been started deliberately. Firefighters were called back to this incident at around 5am after more rubbish had been put in the skip and set alight.

Firefighters from Rotherham were called to a fire on Holmes Lane, Hooton Roberts, at 5.40am. Upon arrival they found 14 bales of hay well alight. This was dealt with by 7.08am and is thought to have been started deliberately.
