Overnight incidents 23/24 January

A rubbish fire was deliberately set on fire on Edward Road, West Melton, Rotherham at 11:15pm last night. A crew from Dearne station attended the incident. They left the scene at 11:40pm.

At 11:15pm four fire crews from Cudworth, Barnsley, Tankersley and South Kirby (from West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service) were called out to a large rubbish fire to the side of some flats on West Street, Royston, Barnsley. The building was slightly affected. The crews left at 12:35pm. An investigation is taking place to determine the cause of the fire.

Two fire crews from Doncaster station were called out to a small fire in a flat on Scot Lane, Doncaster at 1am. A pan had been accidentally left on the hob. A man in his 20’s was led out of the flat by firefighters, he suffered slight smoke inhalation. The crews left at 1:35am.

At 3:45am a wheelie bin was deliberately set on fire on Southey Green Road, Sheffield. Elm Lane station attended the incident. They left at 4am.
