Overnight incidents 27/28 July 2022

A crew from Elm Lane were called 7.24pm to a fire involving trees and shrubs on a path off Shiregreen Lane, Sheffield. One hose reel was used to extinguish the fire and the incident had been dealt with by 7.48pm. It is believed this fire was set deliberately.

A crew from Tankersley attended a fire in Westwood Country Park after receiving a call at 8pm. On arrival the crew found the cause of the fire was a motorcycle that had been set alight. Water back packs and beaters were used to extinguish the fire. The incident had been dealt with by 8.25pm.

A crew from Parkway attended a van fire on Basegreen Close, Sheffield after receiving a call at 8.34pm. The dashboard and seats were well alight and had to be extinguished by a hose reel. Firefighters had left the scene by 9.09pm.

Crews from Birley Moor and Central attended a shed fire on Blackstock Road, Sheffield after receiving a call at 11.24pm. Firefighters wore breathing apparatus and used a hose reel, jet and thermal imaging camera to deal with this fire. The incident had been dealt with by 12.53am.

Crews from Parkway, Rivelin and Central attended a fire at building on Burngreave Road, Sheffield after receiving a call at 1.06am. The fire electrical in nature, with the external light fitting and wiring well alight. This was extinguished with a powder fire extinguisher. The incident had been dealt with by 1.49am.
