Weekend incidents 14/16 August 2020

On Saturday 15 August, crews were called to an incident on Stripe Road in Rossington Doncaster at 00:18am in which a Mitsubishi Shogun was well alight One crew from Doncaster attended and they left the scene at 01:12am. The incident was deemed to be deliberate.

A transit van had also been set alight on Saturday at 01:11am on Skew Hill in Sheffield. Elm Lane attended and they left the scene at 02:05am.Crews concluded that this incident was deliberate.

Still on Saturday at 02:01am, crews attended another vehicle fire in Sheffield on Vikinglea Road. This vehicle, a Peugot 106,  was well alight when firefighters arrived on scene. A crew from Parkway extinguished the fire and left at around 02:38am. This was a deliberate incident.

Another vehicle fire was attended on Saturday at 04:35am on Furlong Road in Harlington, Barnsley. One crew from Dearne attended and they left at 05:02am. Again, this was deliberate.

At 09:25am on Saturday, a fire occured on Pinfold Lane in Norton, Doncaster. This was a shed fire which was used to store wood for a log burner and the shed was located next to an incinerator which was full of paper. Unfortunately, a discarded cigarette caused this fire. An Adwick crew attended. There were no injuries and firefighters left at 10:02am.

At 02:36pm Saturday afternoon, crews were called to a kitchen fire on Princess Avenue in Stainforth, in which a pan had been left in the oven and the oven had been accidentally turned on. The pan had fat in it and had therefore set on fire. Fire damage was limited to the oven and there was a small amount of smoke in the property. A crew from Thorne attended and they left at 03:13pm.

At 00:01am on Sunday morning, crews were called to a kitchen fire on Limes Close in Staincross, Barnsley. This was food that had been accidentally left in a microwave for too long and had set alight. One male was assisted, by the fire crew, out of the property safely. Crews from Barnsley, Cudworth and Parkway attended. They left at 01:09am.
