Weekend incidents 16/18 June 2023

Saturday 17 June

A van was deliberately set on fire at 2:30am on James Street, Masbrough, Rotherham. Firefighters from Rotherham station attended the incident. They left at 3:15am.

Three fire crews from Rotherham, Maltby and Dearne stations attended a deliberate premise fire at 3:40am on St John’s Road, East Dene, Rotherham. All occupants were already out when crews arrived. Firefighters left the scene at 5:05am.

Thorne firefighters were called out to a shed fire at 12:25pm on Fenland Road, Thorne, Doncaster. The cause of the fire is not known. The crew left the scene at 1:15pm.

Firefighters from Lowedges, Parkway and Stocksbridge stations attended a premise fire at 8:30pm on Birchlands Drive, Sheffield. All occupants were already safely out when crews arrived. The fire is believed to have started accidentally. Crews came away at 11:50pm.

A vehicle was deliberately set on fire at 10:55pm on The Avenue, Bentley, Doncaster. Firefighters from Adwick station attended the incident. They left at 11:55pm.

Barnsley firefighters were called out to a deliberate car fire at 11:05pm on Meadow View, Worsbrough, Barnsley. The crew came away at 12am.

Sunday 18 June

Three fire crews from Rivelin and Central stations were called out to a premise at 5:30am on Winchester Road, Sheffield which had been struck by lightning. There had been a fire in the roof space, however the fire was already out when crews arrived. Firefighters left the scene at 6am.

Firefighters from Maltby and Edlington stations attended a premise at 11am on Wheatfield Drive, Tickhill, Doncaster. The accidental fire had started in an outside bin and had spread to premise. Crews left the scene at 12:30pm.

A vehicle was accidentally on fire at 5:35pm on Waterside, Thorne, Doncaster. Firefighters from Doncaster station attended the incident. They left at 5:50pm.

Edlington fireifghters were called out to an accidental fire at 6:55pm on Church Lane, Bramley, Rotherham. Lightning had struck a garden shed. Fire crews left the scene at 7:30pm.
