Weekend incidents 20/22 August 2021

At 07:23pm on Friday (20 August) evening, one crew from Rivelin was called to a small vehicle fire on Livesey Street in Sheffield. The car had been set alight and then had rolled down a nearby hill.  On arrival, the whole vehicle was on fire. Some grass and undergrowth close to the car had been affected by the fire. The crew left at 08:15pm and deemed the fire to have been started deliberately.

In the early hours of Saturday morning (21 August), at 02:57am, one crew from Tankersley attended a small vehicle fire on Arundel View Jump in Barnsley. The crew left at 03:34am and deemed the fire to have been started deliberately.

Firefighters were called to another small vehicle fire on Saturday morning at 08:39am on a street opposite Rebecca Row in Barnsley. One crew from Barnsley attended and left the scene at 09:07am. They said the fire had been started deliberately.

Three crews from Central, Lowedges and Birley Moor were called to a fire in a flat on Gervase Avenue in Sheffield at 04:56pm on Saturday evening. This was a fuse board on fire inside the property. There were no casualties involved in this incident. Crews left at 11:10pm and deemed the fire to have started accidentally.

Firefighter attended a kitchen fire on Bluebell Close in Sheffield at 08:58pm on Saturday night. Crews from Central and Elm Lane were in attendance. The kitchen fire had involved an electric hob which had been left switched on, accidently and had consequently set fire to the items on top of the hob. The occupier was not in the property at the time of the fire. Crews left at 10:28pm and deemed the fire to have started accidentally.

At 09:05pm on Saturday night, one crew from Parkway was called to a fire involving a large Sprinter Van on Orgreave Road in Catcliffe, Rotherham. Crews left at 09:31pm and said the van had been set alight deliberately.

On Sunday at 01:02pm, firefighters were called to a small vehicle fire on Turf Moor Road in Hatfield Woodhouse, Doncaster. This was a Citroen C2 upside down in dike which had been set alight. Firefighters left at 01:36pm and said the car had been set alight deliberately.
