Weekend incidents 22/24 July 2022

Friday 22 July

One crew from Edlington were called at 8.40pm to a vehicle fire on Hangman Stone Road, Doncaster. This was an abandoned car that had been set on fire. Firefighters used one hose reel to extinguish the fire and dampened down around the scene to prevent further fire spread. They had left the scene by 9.31pm

One crew from Barnsley attended a car fire on Moorside Avenue, Barnsley at 10.49pm. One hose reel was used to extinguish the fire which was set deliberately. Crews had left the scene by 11.40pm.

Saturday 23 July

Crews from Rotherham, Maltby and Aston Park attended an RTC involving two vehicles on Herringthorpe Valley Road, Herringthorpe, Rotherham after receiving a call at 10.20am.  One man was rescued from one of the vehicles and received treatment from paramedics. Firefighters had left the scene by 11.12am.

One crew from Elm Lane attended a car fire on Marigold Close at 7.29pm. One hose reel was used to extinguish the fire which is believed to have been set deliberately. Firefighters had dealt with the incident by 8pm.

One crew from Adwick were called at 9.43pm to the scene of a fire involving two portacabins on the Abbes Walk, Burghwallis, Doncaster.  One hose reel and a ventilation fan were used to extinguish the fire and clear the smoke. The fire was set deliberately but fortunately no one was injured. The had dealt with the incident by 10.28pm.

Sunday 24 July

Crews from Birley Moor and Central attended the scene of a fire involving allotments of Norton Avenue, Sheffield after receiving a call shortly before 2am. One hose reel and two jets were used to extinguish the fire which had spread across an area of approximately 50×50 metres.  The cause of the fire is believed to be deliberate. Crew had left the scene by 5.26am.

Five fire engines attended a fire on Dixon Street, Sheffield after receiving the call at 2.54am. The fire had spread from rubbish to the roof of a building. Two jets were used to extinguish the fire and the incident had been dealt with by 10.09am.
