Friday 29 May

Firefighters from Parkway, Central and Birley Moor were called to Poole Place, Sheffield, at 9.52pm. Upon arrival they found a domestic garage well alight. This left the garage roof and contents totally destroyed. It was dealt with by 11.06pm and is thought to have started accidentally through the electrics.

Saturday 30 May

Firefighters from Doncaster were called to Prospect Place, Hyde Park, at 12.46pm. Upon arrival they found a very large amount of rubbish in the garden of a property. The whole of the garden was involved in fire with the heat smashing the kitchen window. There was no fire spread internally. This was dealt with by 1.30pm and is thought to have been started accidentally – due to large amounts of glass bottles being in the pile of rubbish on a sunny day.

Firefighters from Barnsley were called to Pontefract Road, Barnsley, at 4.16pm. Upon arrival they found a car well alight near a skate park. This was dealt with by 5.10pm and is thought to have been started deliberately.

Sunday 31 May

Firefighters from Rotherham, Tankersley and Edlington were called to Shipman Balk, Clifton, at 2.46am. Upon arrival they saw a huge fire ball which, on closer inspection, appeared to be a caravan fully loaded with tyres, all well alight. This was dealt with by 3.50am and is thought to have been started deliberately.

Firefighters from Thorne and Doncaster were called to Wembley Road, Moorends, at 3.49pm. Upon arrival they found a car well alight on a driveway. The fire had taken hold when the occupier was working on the car. Radiant heat caused some damage to the guttering and front door. This was dealt with by 4.23pm.

Firefighters from Edlington were called to Kearsley Lane, Conisbrough, at 5.28pm. Upon arrival they found one motorbike well alight. This was dealt with by 5.46pm and is thought to have been started accidentally.
