Two fire engines are parked up on an area of farm land, on a hill. The weather is dull and it appears to be in the late evening. Two firefighters can be seen in the distance, walking between the two fire engines.

Weekend incidents – 5/6/7 March

Saturday 6 March

Firefighters from Aston Park were called to Dinnington Road, Woodsetts, at 4.07am. Upon arrival they found a car on fire in the middle of a farmer’s field. This was dealt with by 5.25am and is thought to have been started deliberately.

Firefighters from Adwick were called to Finkle Street, Bentley, at 2.9pm. Upon arrival they found a Citroen C2 well alight. This was dealt with by 3.03pm and is thought to have started deliberately.

Firefighters from Central and Rivelin were called to Bole Hill Road, Sheffield, at 8.42pm. Upon arrival they found a fire in the kitchen of a first floor flat. This fire was confined to the kitchen and started when a candle set fire to some curtains. Both occupants were out on arrival and one male, in his 70s, was taken to hospital for precautionary checks after suffering from smoke inhalation. This was dealt with by 11.48pm.

Sunday 7 March

Firefighters from Tankersley were called to Warren Lane, Sheffield, at 5.44am. Upon arrival they found a BMW on fire. This was dealt with by 6.24am and is thought to have been started deliberately.

Firefighters from Cudworth were called to Applehaigh View, Royston, at 6.29am. Upon arrival they found three hay bales, some pallets and an assortment of stable equipment well alight at a small holding. This was dealt with by 7.37am and is thought to have been started deliberately.

Firefighters from Parkway and Rotherham were called to Rother View Road, Canklow, at 10.27am. Upon arrival they found a large amount of domestic waste on fire to the rear of a property, with heat and flames damaging the window and smoke seeping into the house. This was dealt with by 11.02am and is thought to have started with a garden fire that spread out of control.

Firefighters from Doncaster were called to Gliwice Way, Doncaster, at 3.23pm. Upon arrival they found an abandoned scooter well alight on a grass area, near a footpath. This was dealt with by 3.43pm and is thought to have started deliberately.
