It’s been a busy weekend for firefighters who have attended a mix of different incidents across South Yorkshire.
A quick run through of the main incidents include five vehicle fires, two kitchen related fires one of which resulted in a lady being taken to hospital with smoke inhalation in Sheffield and several rubbish and wheelie bin fires.
On Friday night four fire crews from Tankersley, Elm Lane, Rotherham and Rivelin stations were called to several touring caravans and an outbuilding on fire in Chapeltown, Sheffield. Crews worked hard to put the fire out which is believed to have been started deliberately.
Then on Sunday at 4:50pm four fire engines attended a fire at a storage unit/warehouse on Fitzwilliam Road in Eastwood, Rotherham. The roof of the building was well alight when crews arrived. An investigation is ongoing into the cause of the fire.
Three fire crews were called to a flat fire at 7:30pm on Sunday evening, one man was rescued from his home suffering from smoke inhalation and was taken to hospital as a precaution. This fire is also under investigation.
