Three fire crews from Central and Lowedges stations along with a Turntable Ladder attended a house fire on Tuesday evening on Whirlowdale Road in Sheffield.

The roof of the two-storey property was alight when we arrived on scene around 5:30pm.

One elderly gentleman was treated for smoke inhalation by the Yorkshire Ambulance Service but was safely out of the building when we arrived.

Fire crews left the scene at 8:15pm

The fire started accidentally.
