Overnight incidents 23/24 April

Firefighters from Birley Moor were called to Stradbroke Crescent, Sheffield, at 7.56pm. Upon arrival they found a wheelie bin fire outside a flat. This was extinguished by 8.25pm and is thought to have been started deliberately.

Firefighters from Dearne were called to Windsor Street, Thurnscoe, at 8.40pm. Upon arrival they found a pile of household waste alight. This appeared to be a bonfire that had been left unattended. It was dealt with by 9.16pm.

Firefighters from Edlington were called to Bernard Road, Edlington, at 9.29pm. Upon arrival they found a row of conifers and a fence well alight. It is thought that the embers from a brassiere had set the trees on fire. This was dealt with by 10.01pm.

Firefighters from Rotherham were called to Rother View Road, Canklow, at 10.20pm. Upon arrival they found a load of fly tipping that had been set alight, and spread to a nearby garden fence. This was dealt with by 11.07pm and is thought to have been started deliberately.

Firefighters from Barnsley were called to Old Mill Lane, Barnsley, at 1.38am. Upon arrival they found a sofa had been propped up against a wall and set alight. This spread to the windows and doors of two properties. This had been dealt with by 2.33am.
