Firefighters from Rotherham were called to a fire on Raby Street, Sheffield, at 7.10pm. Upon arrival they found a number of fences well alight, the fire having spread from a mattress that was set alight on a back garden of a property in order to dispose of it. This had been dealt with by 7.40pm and has been recorded as an accidental fire.
Firefighters from Rotherham were called to a fire on Oaks Lane, Kimberworth, at 7.51pm. Upon arrival they found a small bonfire that involved tyres and wood. This was extinguished by 8.11pm and is thought to have been started deliberately – with two young people riding off on bikes once the crew arrived.
Firefighters from Aston Park, Rotherham and Parkway were called to reports of a fire on Park Road, East Dene, at 8.06pm. Upon arrival they found this was not a garage fire as suspected, but a bonfire that had spread to a hedge. This was dealt with by 8.49pm and is thought to have been started deliberately.
Firefighters from Elm Lane were called to a fire on Hatfield House Lane, Sheffield, at 8.42pm. Upon arrival they found a garden fire that had gotten out of control, and extinguished it with a hose reel jet. This was extinguished by 8.57pm.
Firefighters from Central were called to a fire on Gleadless Road, Sheffield, at 9.39pm. Upon arrival they found a garden fire that had been left unattended. This was extinguished by 10.14pm.
Firefighters from Parkway were called to a fire on Motehall Road, Sheffield, at 9.47pm. Upon arrival they found a small amount of rubbish on fire on public land at the back of some houses. This was extinguished by 10pm and is thought to have been started deliberately, with reports again of young people hanging around the area.
Firefighters from Central and Parkway were called to a fire on Mulberry Street, Sheffield, at 11.20pm. Upon arrival they found a bin store had been set alight next to a solicitors office. This was extinguished by 11.58pm.
