Overnight incidents – 23/24 January

Firefighters from Elm Lane were called to Longley Avenue, Sheffield, at 7.21pm. Upon arrival they found two wheelie bins had been pushed into the middle of a children’s park and set alight. This was dealt with by 8.02pm and is thought to have been started deliberately.

Firefighters from Dearne were called to Houghton Road, Thurnscoe, at 8.25pm. Upon arrival they found a burning bin alight in the middle of a car park. This was dealt with by 9.31pm and is thought to have been started deliberately.

Firefighters from Cudworth were called to Milefield Lane, Grimethorpe, at 9.17pm. Upon arrival they found two bins well alight inside a bin store. This was dealt with by 10.21pm and is thought to have been started deliberately.

Firefighters from Barnsley were called to Low Row, Wooley Colliery Village, at 0.42am. Upon arrival they found a Vauxhall Astra well alight. This was dealt with by 1.25am and is thought to have been started deliberately.
