Overnight incidents 26/27 April

Firefighters from Central were called to Cradock Road, Sheffield, at 8.54pm. Upon arrival they found two wheelie bins well alight. These had been extinguished by 9.26pm – it is thought the fire started accidentally.

Firefighters from Elm Lane were called to Robey Street, Sheffield, at 8.57pm. Upon arrival they found a large garden fire that appeared to be out of control. Following a discussion with the occupant this was extinguished by the crew – due to plastic and paint being involved. This was dealt with by 9.26pm.

Firefighters from Maltby were called to Highfield Park, Maltby, at 9.14pm. Upon arrival they found a large amount of rubbish well alight on an allotment. This was extinguished by 10.03pm and is thought to have been started deliberately.

Firefighters from Adwick were called to Bentley Moor Lane, Carcroft, at 9.26pm. Upon arrival they found a transit van had been pulled into a field and set alight. This was dealt with by 10.14pm and is thought to have been started deliberately.

Firefighters from Central were called to Rutland Road, Sheffield, at 10.21pm. Upon arrival they found a large amount of dumped rubbish and trees on fire behind a sheltered housing block. The fire eventually spread to a derelict shed, too. This was extinguished by 11.42pm and is thought to have been started deliberately.

Firefighters from Dearne were called to Victoria Street, Goldthorpe, at 0.52am. Upon arrival they found a wheelie bin fire was starting to spread to the ivy on a boundary wall next to it. This was extinguished by 1.15am and is thought to have been started deliberately.

Firefighters from Dearne were called to Main Street, Goldthorpe, at 1.17am. Upon arrival they found a large amount of commercial and domestic rubbish, that appeared to have been fly tipped, well alight. This was extinguished by 1.56am and is thought to have been started deliberately.

Firefighters from Elm Lane were called to Station Road, Ecclesfield, at 2.06am. Upon arrival they found a small vehicle well alight. This was  extinguished by 3.31am and was totally burnt out. It is thought to have been started deliberately.
