Two fire engines are parked up on an area of farm land, on a hill. The weather is dull and it appears to be in the late evening. Two firefighters can be seen in the distance, walking between the two fire engines.

Overnight incidents – 30/31 July

Firefighters from Edlington were called to Kings Crescent, Edlington, at 8.26pm. Upon arrival they found a large amount of rubbish dumped to the rear of some empty houses. This was dealt with by 8.51pm and is thought to have been started deliberately.

Firefighters from Central were called to City Road, Sheffield, at 9.23pm. Upon arrival they found a black wheelie bin well alight. This was dealt with by 9.34pm and is thought to have been started deliberately.

Firefighters from Parkway were called to Saunders Road, Sheffield, at 9.58pm. Upon arrival they found a supervised garden bonfire that was developing quickly. The crew on scene felt this was highly likely to spread to nearby grass and fencing and, as such, extinguished it as a precaution. This was dealt with by 10.22pm.

Firefighters from Thorne were called to Lings Lane, Hatfield, at 10.17pm. Upon arrival they found a pile of household rubbish well alight, dumped in a corn field. This was dealt with by 10.56pm and is thought to have been started deliberately.

Firefighters from Aston Park, Maltby and Birley Moor were called to Houghton Road, North Anston, at 10.33pm. Upon arrival they found a large amount of timber alight on a trading estate. This was dealt with by 11.28pm and is thought to have been started deliberately.

Firefighters from Dearne were called to Pastures Lane, Cadeby, at 10.43pm. Upon arrival they found one car well alight in a farmers field. This was a total burnout, was dealt with by 11.27pm and is thought to have been started deliberately.

Firefighters from Parkway were called to Maltravers Road, Sheffield, at 11.34pm. Upon arrival they found one motorbike well alight. This was dealt with by 11.48pm and is thought to have been started deliberately.

Firefighters from Aston Park were called to Silverdales, Dinnington, at 1.23am. Upon arrival they found a small amount of household rubbish on some open land to the rear of a house. This was dealt with by 1.46am and is thought to have been started deliberately.
