Weekend incidents 12 to 14 February 21

A moped was set alight on Westfield Road in Hatfield, Doncaster just before midnight on Friday. The fire was out when Thorne firefighters arrived on the scene. It was started deliberately.

Central, Rivelin and Elm Lane firefighters responded to a fire in a terraced house on Woodview Road in Sheffield just after midnight in the early hours of Saturday morning. The property was well alight, although no one was hurt in the incident. Someone in a neighbouring property had to be evacuated by firefighters. An investigation could not determine whether the fire was deliberate, or had started accidentally.

Dearne firefighters tackled an incident at a house on Bramham Croft, Darfield in Barnsley at around 9.50am on Saturday morning. A tea towel had been left on a cooker hob, causing it to ignite. Smoke alarms sounded and raised the alarm, although the fire itself was out when fire crews arrived on the scene.

A commercial wheelie bin was set alight and pushed up against a shop front on Swinton Road in Mexborough at around 4.50am on Sunday. The shop front was well alight, but the fire was extinguished by Dearne and Edlington firefighters who left the scene shortly after 6am.

An older man was taken to hospital for a check up after an electric kettle was placed on a cooker hob, causing it to ignite. The incident happened in sheltered housing at Crabtree Road in Sheffield at around 12.40pm on Sunday. Rivelin, Central and Elm Lane firefighters respoinded.
