Weekend incidents 28 to 31 August

A car caught fire on a driveway on Handsworth Avenue in Sheffield at around 9.15am on Saturday. One fire engine attended the incident, which was dealt with using a hose reel. The fire caused some minor damage to the outside of a nearby house.

A fire on some allotments got out of control and had to be dealt with by firefighters at Thurbrook Gardens, Thurcroft just before 5pm on Saturday. Maltby firefighters attended.

A fire at an unoccupied property on Lancaster Street, Thurnscoe is thought to have been  started deliberately. Dearne, Adwick and Barnsley fire stations attended the blaze at around 2am on Sunday. Crews wearing breathing apparatus used hose reels to put out the fire, which caused damage to the kitchen and the living room.

A transit van was set alight in a field on Carr Head Lane, Bolton upon Dearne at around 10pm on Sunday. Rotherham fire station responded to the blaze.

A motorbike inside a garage was set alight on Carr Road, Deepcar at around 1.15am on Monday. Rivelin fire station tackled the blaze.

A stolen Honda CRV caught fire on Sandall Beat Lane, Armthorpe Road, Wheatley Hills in Doncaster at around 8.30am on Monday. The deliberate fire was tackled by Doncaster firefighters.

Cooking left unattended in an oven on Cedric Crescent, Thurcroft sparked a fire at around 12.30pm on Monday. Rotherham, Aston Park and Maltby firefighters spent around an hour at the scene. No one was hurt in the incident.
