Firefighters from Cudworth were called to a fire last night which turned out to be an armchair that had been set alight on purpose.

The crew was called at 9.44pm to Beever Street in Goldthorpe, Barnsley.

One hose reel was used to extinguish the fire, which was out by 10.15pm.

Help prevent arson by:

• Taking bins out the morning of collection, and bringing them in straight away
• Not leaving waste and rubbish outside – even if you do intend to take it to the tip
• Report suspicious activity to Police on 101
