E-cigarette battery sparks car fire

Firefighters from Rivelin station were called to a car fire on Sandygate Road in Sheffield on Sunday at 12:30pm.

An e-cigarette battery had caught fire in a coat pocked which was being worn by the driver of the car.

The fire crew used a hose reel to extinguish the fire, which was mainly to the interior of the vehicle.

A man, in his 20’s, suffered burns from the incident and was taken to hospital.

Firefighters left the scene at 12:45pm
