Firefighters from Edlinton attended two different fires in the early hours of this morning – both within 30 minutes, and one mile, of each other.
The first call came in at 2.23am. This was to a small rubbish fire on Balby Road, Balby.
Upon arriving at the scene the crew used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire – it was out by 2.34am.
The second call came in at 2.53am. This was to another small rubbish fire on Springwell Lane, Balby.
Again a hose reel jet was used to extinguish the fire and the crew left the scene around 3.10am.
It is thought both of these fires were started deliberately.
