Fire crews extinguish residential property fire in Doncaster

Firefighters tackled a blaze at a residential property on Bentley Road, Doncaster last night.

Fire crews were called at 7:35pm and two appliances from Doncaster, along with a crew from Adwick station, responded to the incident.

The owner of the property, a male in his sixties, was already out of the house when firefighters arrived and was taken to Doncaster Royal Infirmary Hospital suffering from the effects of slight smoke inhalation.

The crews used breathing apparatus and a hose reel to extinguish the blaze.

The fire, which was contained within the kitchen, is believed to have started accidentally by water leaking onto electrics within the house. Unfortunately the rest of the property suffered significant smoke damage.

Firefighters left the incident at around 9:20pm.
