Fire crews tackle two house fires and a caravan fire overnight

Firefighters across South Yorkshire have been busy overnight tackling a number of incidents.

At 3:20am two fire crews from Dearne and Rotherham were called to Brookside in Swinton, Rotherham where a touring caravan was well alight and had spread to two other cars. The fire is believed to be a deliberate fire.

Then at 4am three fire engines attended a house fire on Sandford Grove Road in Sheffield. Fire crews from Lowedges and Central stations were called and found a pan had caught fire in the kitchen.  The occupants, a man and woman in their 50’s, were already out of the property but were suffering from smoke inhalation.

A further house fire was attended by fire crews from Askern, Adwick and Doncaster stations at 4:45am on Avenue Road in Instoneville, Doncaster. The fire was in a front bedroom and is believed to have started accidentally. The family and their pets were already out of the semi-detached house when crews arrived.  One young woman was suffering from smoke inhalation. Crews left the scene around 6am.
