Fire crews have been called out to two bungalow fires overnight in Rotherham.
The first was at 4:40pm on Thursday on Whitehill Avenue in Brinsworth.
The semi-detached bungalow was well alight when four crews arrived at the scene. The occupant, an elderly man, was already outside. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used hose reels to put the fire out which was in the kitchen and hallway area.
An investigation into the cause of the fire is now taking place.
The second incident was at 4am on Friday on Chapel Lane in Carlton, also a semi-detached bungalow. A lady and young child were already safely outside when the four fire engines arrived.
The fire was in the kitchen, which was due to clothing left on the hob. Firefighters used hose reels to quickly put the fire out.
Both occupants went to hospital as a precaution.
