Crews from various different stations across South Yorkshire were called to a series of car fires in the early hours of this morning.
The first one involved a taxi on Ferrars Road, Sheffield. A crew from Rotherham attended the incident, after being called at 0.30am, and used a hose reel jet to extinguish a fire in the engine compartment, which was possibly caused by an electrical fault.
At 2.54am a crew from Cudworth were called to Farm Road, Kendray, to deal with a Volkswagen Golf that was well alight. It is thought this one had been started deliberately.
Finally, firefighters from Central were called to Algar Drive, Sheffield at 3.32am. This was to a fire involving a Nissan Micra which it is thought was set alight after being rallied around a field.
