Firefighters have attended three serious premise fires overnight.
At 11:30pm on Monday night fire crews from Doncaster and Edlington stations were called to an Estate Agents on Somersby Avenue in Sprotbrough. The ground floor was well alight when they arrived. Firefighters used hose reels to tackle the fire. Crews left the scene at 2am. Following a fire investigation it is believed that the fire was started deliberately.
Then at 11:50pm three fire engines from Aston, Maltby and Birley Moor stations were called to a house fire on Pagenall Drive in Swallownest, Rotherham. All occupants were out of the building. Firefighters worked quickly to put the fire out before leaving the scene at 2:20am. The cause of the fire is not known at this time.
The third fire was at a flat on Infirmary Road in Sheffield. Firefighters from Central and Rivelin stations attended the incident at 2:30am. The occupant was already outside when the crews arrived. Firefighters used two hose reels to tackle the fire which had started accidentally due to smoking materials.
