Fire crews have been busy overnight tackling two large derelict building fires in Swinton and Wombwell.
Three fire crews from Dearne and Rotherham stations were called out to Goodwin Crescent, Swinton, Rotherham at 9pm on Tuesday evening. Where a derelict children’s home was well alight. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used hose reels to put the fire out.
Then at 11:30pm three crews from Rotherham and Doncaster stations attended a large derelict industrial building which was well alight on Everill Gate Lane in the Wombwell area of Barnsley. The building has been totally gutted by the fire.
Both incidents are believed to have been started deliberately.
