Three fire crews were called out to a flat fire on Porter Brook View in Sheffield at 4:20 am on Friday morning.

The fire was at a single storey flat and firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the property and rescued a woman.

Fire crews quickly extinguished the fire which was located in the living room.

The woman, aged in her 60’s, was taken to hospital with smoke inhalation.

An investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
