Football fans caught up in coach fire

Firefighters tackled a fire involving a coach full of football fans on Friday.

Crews were called to the blaze on Station Road, Chapeltown at around 6.20pm.

The double decker coach was well alight and firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used hose reels to put out the fire.

No one on board the coach was hurt in the incident.

It’s thought the fire started accidentally and that the passengers were travelling from Burnley for the Clarets’ match against Rotherham United later that evening.
