A fire engine has been on standby at a suspected gas leak in Sheffield since around 10.30am on Thursday.

The leak occurred on Oakbrook Road and around 50 properties have been evacuated as a precaution.

Gas engineers from Transco are dealing with the problem, but a 100 metre safety cordon is likely to be in place for several hours.
