Overnight incident 5/6 November 2023

Firefighters from Dearne were called after reports that a firework had been thrown into a derelict building on Schofield Street, Mexborough, Doncaster. There was no fire but crews used a ventilation fan to clear smoke within the property. They were called at 5.40pm and the incident had been dealt with by 6pm.

A crew from Parkway attended a vehicle fire on Waverley Road, Sheffield after a call was received at 5.41pm. One hose reel was used to extinguish the fire which had been set deliberately. The incident had been dealt with by 6.09pm.

One fire engine attended a fire involving a skip on Beverley Street, Sheffield after a call was received at 6.47pm. Crews used two hose reels to extinguish the fire and crews had dealt with the incident by 7.14pm.

Three fire engines attended a house fire on Stone Front Grove, Cantley, Doncaster after a call was received at 8.39pm. The fire was located in a bedroom and is believed to have been caused by candles that had been left alight accidentally.  Two hose reels were used to extinguish the fire. No one was injured. Firefighters had left the scene by 10.20pm.

Firefighters from Edlington attended a fire in a derelict building on Princes Crescent, Edlington, Doncaster after a call was received at 8.40pm. The fire was caused by fireworks which had been pushed through the leterbox. The spread of the fire only involved the door which was fully extinguished by fire crews. They had dealt with the incident by 9pm.
