Weekend incident 3/5 November 2023

Friday

Firefighters from Dearne were called at 5.17pm to reports of a car fire on a road near a supermarket in Aldwarke, Rotherham. Crews used a hosereel and breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire. The incident had been dealt with by 5.49pm.

Three fire engines attended a road traffic collision where a car was found on its side in a stream near Common Lane, Warmsworth, Doncaster after a call was received at 7pm. One woman and a dog were rescued from the vehicle by firefighters. Firefighters had dealt with the incident by 7.52pm.

Two crews from Central attended a fire involving a wheelie bin on Daresbury View, Sheffield which had been dragged to a tree and set alight after a call was received at 7.16pm. One hose reel was used to extinguish the fire. The incident had been dealt with by 7.31pm.

Saturday

Crews from Central were mobilised after a call regarding a rubbish fire on Washington Road, Sheffield. On arrival crews found that a pile of cardboard had been set alight next to a bin chute.  They used buckets of water to extinguish the fire which had been dealt with by 6.20pm.

Sunday

A fire engine from Cudworth attended a vehicle fire on Wombwell Lane, Stairfoot, Barnsley after a call was received at 12.12am. The fire was extinguished using a hose reel and had been dealt with by 12.26am.

Crews from Dearne and Tankersley attended a fire in a in a flat on Turners Close, Barnlsey after a call was received at 11.07am. The fire was located in the kitchen and on arrival all persons were accounted for. Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus were utilised to extinguish the fire with damage restricted to the kitchen only. The fire was caused accidentally and had been dealt with by 11.53am.

Firefighters from Lowedges attended a fire inside a stairwell in a building on Batemoor Road, Sheffield after a call was received at 12.22pm. The fire involved rubbish which had been set alight and left in the stairwell. One hose reel was used to extinguish the fire and firefighters had left the scene 12.44pm
