Three fire engines attended a road traffic collision on East Bawtry Road after a call was received at 5.25pm. Three cars were involved in the collision and one woman was taken to hospital. One man was able to extricate himself with assistance from fire crews and paramedics. The incident was handed over to South Yorkshire Police shortly after 6pm.
One fire crew attended a fire involving an electricity pylon on Burton Road, Monk Bretton, Barnsley after a call was received at 7.35pm. The area of grassland below the pylon was also alight. A water backpack was used to extinguish the grass fire and the bottom of the post. Northern Powergrid attended and earthed the power lines so that crews could fully extinguish the fire using a hose reel. The incident is believed to have been caused deliberately. Crews came away at 10.46pm.
Six fire engines and one aerial appliance attended a fire on Manor Park Centre, Sheffield after a call was received at 12.06am. Four jets and one hose reel were used to extinguish the fire which is believed to have been deliberately set. The incident had been dealt with by 2.46am.
