Overnight incidents – 25/26 May

Firefighters from Tankersley were called to Hague Lane, Wentworth, at 5.47pm. Upon arrival they found a pile of fly tipped rubbish well alight. This was dealt with by 8.26pm and is thought to have been started deliberately.

Firefighters from Maltby were called to Dunns Dale, Maltby, at 9.34pm. Upon arrival they found a garden fire had been left unattended and spread to the surrounding, overgrown garden. This was dealt with by 10pm.

Firefighters from Tankersley were called to Bower Hill Road, Oxspring, at 9.59pm. Upon arrival they found a small amount of wood on fire in a park. This was dealt with by 10.21pm and is thought to have been started deliberately.

Firefighters from Dearne and Barnsley were called to Foundry Gate, Wombwell, at 10pm. Upon arrival they found two sheds and a fence on fire at the back of a house. This was dealt with by 0.16am. It is thought to have started when a cigarette was discarded onto some decking.

Firefighters from Elm Lane were called to Palgrave Road, Sheffield, at 10.27pm. Upon arrival they found some fencing and a large area of decking well alight to the rear of a house. This was dealt with by 11.11pm and is thought to have started accidentally.

Firefighters from Rotherham were called to Hollowgate, Wellgate, at 0.48am. Upon arrival they found one industrial skip well alight. This was dealt with by 1.46am and was started deliberately.
